چکیده

Conclusion A titrated adenosine protocol with prophylactic use of an inhaled beta-2-agonist is a safe procedure in patients with history of mild, well-controlled asthma or COAD undergoing stress myocardial perfusion imaging. Figure 4A. Maximal flow-volume curve results showing mild airflow limitation. There was limited reversibility on bronchodilator response testing (40 ml (2%) increase in FEV1 over pre-bronchodilator value)

A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study assessing the safety and tolerability of regadenoson in subjects with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

BACKGROUND Adenosine receptor stress agents for myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) may cause A(2B) and/or A(3) receptor-mediated bronchoconstriction, of particular concern to physicians testing patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). METHODS A Phase 4, randomized, double-blind study (NCT00862641) assessed the safety of the selective A(2A) receptor agonist, regade...

Regadenoson use in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: the state of current knowledge

Stress testing is challenging in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Functional capacity is generally decreased in this patient population, limiting patients' ability to achieve physiologic stress through exercise. Additionally, due to emphysematous changes, COPD patients tend to have poor acoustic windows that impair the quality and therefore diagnostic accuracy of stre...

The value of myocardial perfusion imaging with Tc-99m MIBI for the prediction of perfusion improvement after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty

Introduction: Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) is an effective method for revascularizing of stenotic coronary vessels. Lack of response to this treatment, either in symptomatic or asymptomatic patients, is usually due to incomplete revascularization, restenosis, and/or irreversibility of myocardial perfusion. Introduction of a noninvasive metho...

Benefits of combined pharmacologic and submaximal exercise stress on Sub-diaphragmatic activity in myocardial perfusion scintigraphy

Introduction: Myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) is an important imaging modality in managing patients with cardiovascular disease. MPI has a significant role in diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease; however it is subjected to different artifacts. Combining pharmacologic stress with submaximal exercise reduces side effects, improves image quality, and enhances the...

Two-day stress-rest lower limbs perfusion scan in patients referred for myocardial perfusion imaging

Introduction: Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) is a major cause of morbidity and is associated with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). We aimed to perform Lower Limb Perfusion Scan (LLPS) in patients referred for Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) and estimate prevalence of PVD in subgroups with normal and abnormal MPI results. We also compared quantitative indices of LLPS in pati...
